Hello there,
roughly how long does a person have to abuse alcohol before they start seeing some serious health issues?
Can I get a rough time frame?

might not take long if you already have underlying health issues.

it will take a good few years if you abuse alcohol a few days each week, but if you abuse alcohol alot each day, you could end up with health issues within the next 3 months, see a counciller if you want help into stopping abusing alcohol or you could end up in debt on the streets.

    Well, I drank a 12 pack a day for 14 years and have a bad ticker now…

Two pacemakers (One cent sale, two for the price of one)..:)

Grossly overweight… (Alcohol stores energy into fat, and I got enough energy stored up to race across the Nation in one burst…but, it makes me tired thinking of it LOL!).

It depends, some people are never affected by acohol, (but it affects everyone around you), and others are affected right away..

But, in my opinion, the sooner the better, so you can break the habit instead of losing all your friends and becoming an idiot to everyone!

    I wish you well…

Everyone respond to alcohol differently. I for one cannot hold a single drop of alcohol, while other people remain as sober as your science teacher during that annoying Friday afternoon lecture.

Nevertheless, the effects of alcohol is felt by all, and serious health issues may occur at anytime.

I have witnessed serious health problems to a person after only 3 hours of drinking. Booze sometimes turns nice men into alcohol tough guys. This often leads to black eyes and broken bones, even worse.

<<< Serious hard liquor for 21 years. Healthy liver, the docs say. SCOTTISH LIVER! I guess it depends on the person.
SEVERE brain damage though. No, I am being serious.

Damage CAN happen in a matter of hours, depending on your body weight, general health, etc, and what you are drinking. All alcoholic beverages cause SOME sort of damage, no matter what anyone tries to tell you.( some might be minute damage on the cellular level) Some damage, depending again on how much you drink, might not show up for years. LEARN TO PACE YOURSELF! If you are concerned, please seek professional medical advice.
