Can anyone help me with an idea of what inpatient alcohol abuse treatment might cost with VA benefits?

I want to get my father to go into a treatment facility. Cost is a factor. He is a three-and-a-half-year veteran in the Navy and so a Veterans Administration hospital seems to be logical.

Private inpatient programs seem to cost over $20,000 (30-day program). Does anyone know what it might cost at the VA hospital? My father is 67 and draws about $2,700 a month from Social Security and other sources.

Thank you.

any decent hospital should be able to utilize his VA benefit, plus his medicare? Does he have medicare? Can he elect his medicare benefit fast? I just went through this and found a great place for my family member for $12,850 for the 28 day program. My family member is there now and doing very well. Email me if you want, I can tell you about my attempts to “reinvent the wheel” this past month with no money!

Just stop drinking. Think of your family’s feelings when you know that they do not want you drinking. That alone can be a good motivation for you to stop drinking.
